• SJS Band Lesson - Advanced Band

  Tuesday October 22nd, 2019, 8am

  Location: Music Room

  Advanced Band Lessons are at 8am each Tuesday and again during the day on a rotational basis. 

  Cadet (younger/new student band) is during recess on Tuesdays and again during the day on a rotational basis. 

• Public Speaking

  Tuesday October 22nd, 2019, 3.15pm — 4.30pm

  Location: SJS Library

  Students will learn about the 3V’s of Public Speaking: the Vocal, Visual, and Verbal.  Topics under the 3V’s will include: 

  • Helpful and hurtful body language 

  • Visual aids 

  • Verbal “distractions” 

  • How to bring a speech to life with your words 

  • How to use your voice to engage the audience 

  • How to craft a speech using the fundamentals of speech structure 


  For students registered for program from Grades 6-8.

  Note: students should bring a notebook.

   

   

   

   

   

  The program’s ultimate goal is to equip and empower students to handle her/himself with more confidence in any speaking environment. 
RJPS will provide each student with a folder containing handout resources. 
Every student receives a Confident Junior Communicators participation certificate at the end of the program. Certificates will also be given for special achievements/recognition
